Untraditional Turkey & Amelia!

This Thanksgiving we had a visitor! John's sister Amelia came to visit from Indiana. We put her in charge of cooking our turkey. She made a Peruvian turkey. It was delicious! We had a lot of leftovers and ate them the whole time she was here.
The turkey was covered in a rub of mostly garlic, cumin, and paprika.
While Amelia was in town we walked along the beach in Newport until I had a pregnant woman bathroom emergency. I've always had a small bladder, but with a bun in the oven it's even smaller and she kicks it! Luckily we were able to find a bathroom after a few unsuccessful stops.

We played games, watched old Disney movies, and John helped Amelia with her programming homework. We took Walter to the park and explored the woods behind the park. John wanted to walk on the partially frozen lake, but every time he got close to the edge Walter started barking and growling at him. John wasn't actually going to because that would be really unsafe, but it was funny to watch Walter be a little watchdog. As we were leaving the park Walter saw his best buddy Winston on the ball field. He was on the field and in the thick mud before we could catch him. Unlike the mud water from before this was straight up mud. Thick, gooey, and sticky. Getting Walter out of the mud was basically like this.
Cool points for you if you know what movie this is from.

There was no way Walter was going in the car in his muddy state, so he got hosed off @ Winston's house with ice cold water.

It was fun hanging out with Amelia. We ate a lot of food as most people do at Thanksgiving. John and Amelia even made onion rings!

Food, family, and fun. Life is good.
