Camping in Vacationland

We've been busy so far this summer and have already been on 2 trips! My sister Crystal came to town and we visited Acadia National Park in Maine. Our car wasn't large enough to fit everyone and our camping gear, so we rented an SUV. The drive to Acadia from RI is about 6 hours, but it took us about 8 on the way up. It was our first road trip with Ellie and she did pretty well. I got to sit in the back seat in between Ellie and Walter. It was cozy and hairy back there. We had a great trip. The weather was absolutely perfect and Ellie slept all the way through the night both nights. On Saturday we did a 2 mile hike. It's amazing how much harder it is to hike with a baby strapped to you. Maine is absolutely beautiful and a place I think everyone should visit. It seems that everywhere but the East Coast forgets about Maine, but it is definitely one of the prettiest states I've ever been to.

Getting ready for the trip. Ellie is 3 months old!
Walter enjoying the view. He loves hiking and camping.

This is Thunderhole. The waves would crash into this hole in the rocks and it sounded like thunder. Walter would bark every time.
We hiked to the top of Gorham Mountain and ate lunch.

Top of Cadillac Mt. It's the highest peak at Acadia. Lucky for us we could just drive to the top. You can hike, but it's a really hard trail that has iron rungs at one point that you have to climb up. It'd be impossible with a baby and dog.
